Rodney's policy priorities

With liberal democracy increasingly under threat globally, it’s more important than ever to have strong liberal voices in the Senedd.

Here are some of the issues Rodney is keen to push:

Fix our broken healthcare: Despite Wales having had a succession of Labour Health Ministers for 28 years, a greater proportion of the population in Wales is on a waiting list than in England and many waiting times are longer. We also need a stronger focus on tackling health inequalities. The gap in life expectancy between Wales’ least and most deprived areas continues to grow.

More action on the environment: As other nations retreat from tackling the climate crisis, it’s more important than ever for Wales to step up. But we need to make it easier for people to make more sustainable choices – whether that’s by investing more in bus services, doing more to enable those without off-street parking to be able to charge an electric vehicle at home or furthering the transition to green energy sources.

A strong Welsh economy: In the wake of Trump’s threatened trade wars and tariffs, and with a Welsh economy that’s lagged behind for decades, this is an area that needs a renewed focus. This must include a new partnership with businesses, both large and small, as well as closer trade ties with the EU.
